BIOGRAFIA
Nato il 20 maggio 1972 a Roma, diplomatosi presso l’Accademia delle Belle Arti, Mauro Pallotta, in arte MAUPAL, include nel processo artistico materiali eterogenei e quotidiani. Sceglie la lana d’acciaio per le qualità scultoree e dimostra versatilità nell’ambito pittorico.
Dopo aver lavorato come scenografo e direttore artistico, oltre alla partecipazione in eventi espositivi, cura montaggi televisivi e cinematografici e lavora come grafico creativo. Nel 2014 scopre le potenzialità della Street Art, che gli consente di trasmettere ad un pubblico più vasto e con maggiore libertà argomenti significativi, registrando la realtà contemporanea, talvolta anticipandone gli sviluppi.
Dopo l’affissione del celebre Super Pope MAUPAL ottiene un grande successo tanto da essere menzionato dai più importanti quotidiani internazionali e definito dal noto tabloid newyorkese ARTNET uno dei trenta street artists più influenti al mondo.
Attualmente la sua produzione artistica si articola in opere di Street Art spontanea e lavori murali: ogni intervento è incentrato su tematiche rilevanti, dalla geopolitica alle trasformazioni sociali, dalla satira agli omaggi rivolti a personaggi illustri del mondo della cultura. Declina inoltre la sua creatività impegnandosi in collaborazioni nel nome di solidarietà, tutela di diritti individuali e cause ambientaliste.
Nonostante la multiformità della sua arte, ricorre sempre rinnovata la figura iconica di Papa Francesco, che incarna valori autentici e, dando l’esempio, esorta alla salvaguardia dell’ambiente, all’urgenza dell’accoglienza e al raggiungimento della pace.
BIOGRAPHY
Born on 20th May 1972 in Rome, graduated from the School of Fine Arts, Mauro Pallotta, aka MAUPAL, includes heterogeneous and everyday life materials in his own artistic process. He chooses steel wool for its sculptural qualities and demonstrates versatility in painting field.
He has worked as a set designer and artistic director, in addition he has taken part in planning exhibition events, then he has looked after television and film editing and he has worked as a creative graphic designer. In 2014 he discovered the power of Street Art, which allows him to transmit significant topics to a wider audience and without restraint, recording contemporary reality, sometimes anticipating its developments.
After the posting of the famous Super Pope MAUPAL achieves great success so much so that he is mentioned by the most important international newspapers and defined by the well-known newyorker tabloid ARTNET as one of the thirty most influential street artists in the world.
Currently his artistic production is divided into Street Art incursions and mural works: each work of art is focused on remarkable themes, from geopolitics to social transformations, from satire to tributes to famous celebrities from the world of culture. He also declines its creativity by dedicating himself to collaborations in the name of solidarity, protection of individual rights and environmental causes.
Despite the multifaceted nature of his art, the iconic figure of Pope Francis is always renewed: Bergoglio embodies authentic values and, as an examplar, he urges us to protect the ecosystem, to keep on hospitality and to search for peace.
